Yes this is the same as my last post in the other thread. The mods can feel free to rename my other thread and delete this one if they want to.

Anyway, tune in.. some good concerts coming up and lots of US Open coverage in HD.

watched some of this last night.. West Wing was VERY soft.. I don't mean the channel was soft, I mean it looks like they used Star Trek style soften filters on many scenes.. I am fairly positive this was a result of the show and not the channel, because other shows were sharp and crisp.

Overall the channel is "ok". Some good concerts in the Music in High Places series.. those with DirecTV might be familiar with this series from the freeviews DirecTV used to offer of it. The concerts that are on over the next two weeks are ones that were already on DirecTV, but a couple good ones none the less. Goo Goo Dolls, The Calling, and India Arie. Also some classical stuff by various philharmonics coming up as well.

Still would much rather have Starz or Cinemax.... but oh well...

Congrats D* for another HD channel.  US Open looks really good.  Keep adding the channels....hopefully TNT is next.

I checked the Directv website for channels on their programmes schedule and found out that several HD channels like the duplicate HBO HD and SHO HD along with some others, unless I was just looking at it correctly, were missing today.

The premium HBO and SHO were still at their 509 and 543 locations, but not at the other ones, as if Directv is moving things around for more HD Channel assignments.:)

So Directv HD subscribers: Hold on to your remotes, it's going to be a fun ride!

Actually they just moved the mapping of 3 channels (BTW HBO and SHOW HD's may be duplicated but this is just remapping and doesn't free up transponders as they are using only one per).

Anyhow

HBO HD moved from 88 to 70
Show DH moved from 91 to 71
and PPV HD moved to 99

I'm guessing they are just making logical room above CBS HD for other Network HD feeds.

this is correct.. the HD distant networks will reside at the same channel numbers as the SD distant networks sans the "3". Previously HBO and Showtime's channel numbers prevented this from happening.

Positive thinking here...the new Directv numbers show up in a manner as you said they would today for the guide on the website (don't have the service, but I get inquires, so I still have to understand things).:)

Question(s) is/are that the 70's appear to be almost full with the HD packages and Premium HD channels, so only 3 HD channels would be left in the 70's, unless I counted wrong.
This means 1 for TNT-HD, 1 each for Cinemax HD and Starz!HD with no placement for Encore HD if contract negotiations came to that.:(

The 80's are matching the distant HD network ( "locals" if you live LA or NY) for those able to live near O&O stations or get waivers, less the "3" borghe mentioned, so with 4 networks, assuming ABC decides it wants in like CBS, FOX and NBC, there are 2 left-would this be for WB HD?

The 90's appear to be for special and NFL ST HD with rounding out the 90's, 99 for HD PPV.

Opinion? That Directv has to be choosey about what HD channels it adds and unless the channel numbers change (again)...this is what HD Directv subscribers are going to get for some time...:D
