VOOM Takes Sub Total to 25K

The VOOM satellite TV service from Cablevision and Rainbow DBS continues to enroll customers and push ahead with its slate of high-def and standard definition channels.

As of June 30, Rainbow DBS/VOOM had about 25,000 activated customers, the companies reported Monday. The service had about 8,000 activated customers as of April 30.

For the second quarter, Rainbow DBS had net revenues of $2.7 million, consisting of subscription fees and sales and rental income associated with satellite TV receivers and equipment. The service's operating loss for the second quarter was $81.5 million.

VOOM launched to customers last October.
