SUMMERSTAGE" CONCERT SERIES Summer Series from NYC Featuring Spectacular Performances Premieres July 25

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - MEDIA ADVISORY DALLAS - July 22, 2004

What: HDNet presents a special summer concert series, featuring performances by Ben Folds, Guster, Devo, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and stellastarr*, all from the Central Park SummerStage outdoor concert series, one of New York City's biggest music events. The concert telecasts will be featured as part of the HDNet Concert Series on Sundays at 9:00 p.m. ET. The schedule of performers is listed below.

When: July 25 - Ben Folds, the singer/pianist who made his mark on the public conscience as the leader of the Chapel Hill, NC trio Ben Folds Five, performs from his new solo album "super d" due out this summer.

Aug. 1 - Guster, the Boston-based trio with a devoted cult following, performs hits from its new album "Keep it Together."

Aug. 8 - Devo, one of new-wave's most innovative and successful bands, was formed in 1974 and has become a cult sensation for more than three decades, partly because of their mainstream smash single, "Whip It."

Aug. 15 - Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the self-described "rock-n-roll, art-punk, disco-sleaze" band from Brooklyn, perform songs that have earned them a significant buzz for their arty-yet-sexy take on garage punk.

Aug. 22 - stellastarr*, the up-and-coming New York City band often compared to the Strokes and whose songs pay tribute to 80's rock bands, sing their fans' favorite hits.

Who: "LIVE! from Central Park SummerStage" is produced by Ideal Entertainment and distributed by Northstar Media, whose 10-episode series, "Rendezvous In New York" featuring jazz legend Chick Corea, premiered on HDNet in 2003.

The artists represent a breadth of genres and cultures and perform in an outdoor setting accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds.
