If you think you can't tell 480p from HD. Now's a chance to prove yourself wrong.

Yes, a huge huge difference in picture quality!!  I'm not even sure that was 480p on 506, it looked a lot worse than usual.  But then again compared to the pure HD on 531 it will definitley look like crap.

It seems like FOX should be able to put out some quality HD broadcasts based on the All Star Game last night.  Unfortunatley, I wasn't able to see the game in HD until the 9th inning due to a prior commitment.  Were we (TWC Milwaukee) really suppossed to be able to view this game on CH 531 in HD??  Just curious, I thought this game would only be shown in HD in Texas...  However, I did mention in another thread being able to watch the Texas-Cleveland game the other day in HD that was from Texas.

I'm glad somebody else saw this game on 531 in true HD.  I was starting to think I was the only one who happened to catch this broadcast.

can some one explain why my all star game look like crap ota. I am sure it was 480p, why didn't I get the true hd like twc customers, I thought it was suppose to be in HD.

Based on reports over at AVS, this game was on Fox Sports Net - Austin via TWC for people in Austin.  For whatever reason, we hear in Milwaukee got the same feed.  I recall the other night seeing commercials on 531 for Texas car dealerships.  The game was also HD for people in Houston and I think Charlotte.  Just based on what I read.

If this was really supposed to be in HD for Milwaukee it sure was kept a secret...

Faux Widescreen might be acceptable for sitcoms etc. for some people, but for sports it is just horrible.  I had forgotten how bad it was until last night.  They should be ashamed of themselves.  Now you guys know what you were missing with the Widescreen Packer games.....

But what you got on 531 last night is how the Packers will look this Fall...

I also saw the true HD feed on 531, however did anyone else notice the major glitches from time to time with the audio cutting in and out, or was it just me?  Also at the very beginning of the game and once more near the 4th inning, the audio cut out and the video did this split screen thing.  Hopefully these glitches are just fox working out the bugs.  I had to keep switching from 531 to 506.  It drove my girlfriend nuts!!

BTW was that 720p or 1080i?

I only saw the 9th inning on 531 and there was at least a minute or two of no audio.

I probably switched back and forth between 506 & 531 ten times in just the 9th inning.:D

I think all Fox HD is (will be) 720p.  What you see depends on your equipment.  If your display is native 720p, and your tuner/stb/card is set to output 720p, then you should see 720p on Fox, ABC, and ESPN HD.

I saw/heard the same thing on my tv. I also switched back and forth between stations. I even switched back to regular channel 6. Boy does that look bad now compared to HD!
