I am using a CM 3678 U/V/FM antenna in my attic. I need this antenna for FM reception. By itself I could not get in 6-1 or 58-1. I hooked up a CM 7778 preamp and I was not able to get 6-1 but 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 3-1 and 3-2 - 5 more digital channels. I could not however get 58-1, I can get 58-2, 58-3, 58-4.

I then hooked up a CM 4228, first by itself, with no better or worse reception.

I then tried using both and this time the reception was not as good, I could not get 6-1, it started pixelating with no audio. I did flip the switch in the preamp for separate VHF & UHF.

So, what does all this mean? Any and all thoughts and ideas would be appreciated. I would have to pick the hottest and muggiest day to go in the attic.

Thanx,

Rick

58 is not 58.1, 58.2 ect. It is remapped to 1.1, 1.2, 1.3....hope that helps...you are getting WDJT on 1.1.

Thanx Greg -

Yeah I found that ought on the home page of this forum. I posted results of signal strength in a new thread. Let me know what you think.

Do you have any idea why using the CM 4228 did not help? Or why combining the two antenna's didn't help either.

Thanx,

Rick
