Does anyone make a DVR capable of HDTV yet?  Im looking for one for OTA use only.  So Im not interested in the DTV or Voom DVRs.  I would settle for a software app for use with an HD tuner card, but last I checked those didnt exist either.  My MyHD card will record HD, but Im looking for something that will pause live TV, etc.  It always seems like they are just around the corner yet nothing ever arrives (sorta like a decent FAUX signal).

It looks as if you found an HDTV OTA recorder that does it all for you...good luck!:)

Thanks, exactly what Im looking for!  So far the least expensive place I have found has it for $900.  A bit steep yet probably worth it.

Why would you not consider the DirecTivo.  For similar money I would think that this is a far superior box than the LG unit?

That would require me having DirecTV wouldnt it?  I presently only get OTA programming.  If I invest in this type of hardware I want to be able to use it OTA, with cable, DirecTV, Voom, Dish or whatever I have next month or several years down the road.  If it can be used as a stand alone DVR then Ill look into it.

that is correct... The DirecTivo IS infinitiely better, as long as you have DirecTV.. Your DirecTV conditional access (aka subscription/access card) determines if you have Tivo capability or not. Without a DirecTV sub at the absolute most you would have is record by time/date/channel and ffwd rwd. And I thought I remember hearing that actually all you get without a D* sub is ffwd/rwd.

Unless you don't have any service, I would probably switch to D* and a DirecTivo... if you don't want any service though, your only option is the LG box... Actually there is an RCA box out there also I believe but it requires an MPEG2 decoder device (internal tuner, DTheater VCR, etc).
