DirecTV's new satellite - DirecTV 7S - is ready to deliver for the satellite TV company, and that means the roll-out of new local TV markets for customers. Beginning today, local TV packages are available for customers in Albany, N.Y., Albuquerque-Santa Fe, N.M., Baton Rouge, La., Dayton, Ohio, Flint-Saginaw-Bay City, Mich., Harlingen-Brownsville, Texas, Lafayette, La., Lexington, Ky., Monterey-Salinas, Calif., Omaha, Reno, South Bend-Elkhart, Ind., and Spokane, Wash. The launch of these markets will bring the number of markets served with local channels by DirecTV to 77.

RFD-TV at 101 Degrees - RFD-TV, the network dedicated to serving the needs of rural America, said DirecTV has relocated the channel to its primary satellite location at 101 degrees, making the network available for viewing by all 12.6 million subscribers of the satellite TV service. DirecTV's decision to move RFD-TV from the 119-degree orbital slot to the 101-degree orbital slot eliminates the previous need for a multi-sat dish system to access the programming. RFD-TV's location on the DirecTV program guide remains the same on channel 379.

It is my understanding that the NASA channel will go to the 101-degree WL orbital slot also.:D

Now all TWC needs to do is add THAT channel, too. Despite there are no KSC launches occuring right now, it is a very informative and very educational channel for adults as well as children.:)

I miss that now that I have no Directv (it's also on DishNetwork).

This moving of channels to 101 degree slots, as I understand it,  allows subscribers to get these channels using their older dishes (ones with one LNB).
