INTERNATIONAL: DISH Adds to Chinese Programming

EchoStar's DISH Network recently added ET News, ET Global, ET Drama, YOYO TV, ET China and JET TV International to its Chinese programming schedule in a package called the Chinese Super Pack. The Chinese Super Pack features six Mandarin-language channels provided by ETTV.

Globecomm Enters DTH - Globecomm Systems, a provider of end-to-end satellite-based communications solutions, said it entered the ethnic programming video business by launching a direct-to-home video platform for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The video distribution delivers a range of video distribution capabilities, the company said, including program origination, video turnaround, advertising insertion, a full spectrum of state-of-the-art video equipment, billing and collection services and conditional access.

GlobeCast Gets Arrowhead Deal - GlobeCast said its Washington, D.C.,-based Government Services Group was awarded a multi-year contract by Arrowhead Global Solutions to provide international space capacity on multiple satellites to support U.S. government communications abroad. GlobeCast said its Government Services Group, established in 2003, represents one of its fastest growing business markets, providing U.S. federal agencies, state agencies and government prime contractors with domestic and international satellite and ground segment services.
