I'm pretty new to this HD thing, but consider myself to be pretty tech-savvy, so bear with me.

I just purchased a HD set (Panasonic 53 inch w/ HD tuner built in), and live in Tosa (68th and North ave).  I was wondering if I have a chance in hell at getting Fox HD broadcast.  Also, any suggestions for anntennas?

Thanks in advance!

Well the best chance you have is to wait for them to get the antenna on their main tower.  But with a roof top antenna you have a possible shot...however it would be better if you were about 8 blocks west at the Nursing Home......much much higher.  But I'm not going to hold out for you being able to receive them right now.

good luck anyway and welcome to the group.

I am real close to you (bluemound)

if you go with a rooftop and rotor, you should be able to get everything including fox 6, though you will need to swing the antenna to get it.

if you go with just a rooftop, no rotor, you won't be able to get both it and other stations.

if you go with an indoor you should be able to get decent reception on all stations though 58 might be a little difficult and Fox 6 is completely out of the question.

hopefully this helps.

I have sent an email to an address I had worked talked with at Fox 6 a couple years back... We'll see if he is still there and if he has any information at all on the new tower.. once their digital transmitter goes live on the new tower you will be able to get them without a problem, even if they continue at low power.

Of course, the other option is to get basic cable from Time Warner, and spring the extra couple bucks to get an HD box for the local HD channels...I think it ends up being around 20 bucks a month...
