ALAST! I have come across a tower.  Can any one tell me if my plan to install it is wrong or right or any other tips on it.  This may be a no brainer but I want to be safe doing it.

The tower has been in use for a good 20+ years, it looks to be around 40 - 50 feet.   Since the tower had been cemented in the ground(at least the bottom four feet) I plan to do the same.  I am using the remainder of the last 10 feet base section to put in the ground( I had to cut off the base section just above the concrete base of the previous owner which left a 6' section for me to use.) This will make the base stick up 2 feet from the ground to connect to my next section.  I will use a 12" diameter concrete form tube that is 4 feet long and fill it with concrete. Actually I have some guys coming out to pour my new driveway so they can fill it up while they are here.  I hope this will be sturdy enough to support two guys climbing up to mount the top sections.  Any advice or criticism would be appreciated.

If you plan to guy that tower, then the 12" dia. by 4' depth will be Ok.  If that tower is of the self supporting type, then you better consider a chuck of concrete for that thing of at least 3 to 4 feet across and 4 feet deep minimum for that height.  Do a search for the Rohn tower web site.  The last time I was on their site I believe they had specs for foundation requirements for their various tower configurations.  Good luck.:)
