Looks like the Channel 10 Great Tv Auction starts tonight at 7pm, well 6:59 on 36-1 to be exact. Help out Milwaukee Public Television, bid on some fun and unique items. Hopefully Flanners donated some stuff. Time Warner usually has some good deals as well.

Audio and video drops occur, a bit, but not bad.

Otherwise, whoa, it's interesting seeing the close-ups of the volunteers fingernails as they "Vanna" the items.

My wife, a former nail-tech, cringes at the sight ...

  I must admit checking this out with my wife and friends this weekend.  The most addicting part of the show was waiting to get a close up glimpse of some poor volunteers' completely chewed up & dirty fingernail in High Def!!

Otherwise the PQ was good, the items for auction were not so good and way overvalued in my opinion.

Glad I'm not in radio any more... used to look forward to being on-camera for the Auction every year... It was always a bit scarey because you would always hear "Wow.. I thought you were better looking than THAT!"  Gotta be a whole lot worse in HD!

Discovered that I went to college with 'John Wyatt' from 'ISN, speaking of being on camera.

Those pesky radio names ... I'd have never known it was him otherwise.

Because someone else already was using my real name, had to call myself Tom McCarthy on the Radio... The upside of the auction was that I would also hear from people who knew me from High School or Grade School, and had been listening but didn't know it was me.

Went thru the phone book... looking for a different last name that sounded like a radio name...  

When my best friend from High School heard the name I picked, he reminded me it was the same last name as a girl friend I had back then!
