I am very much impressed with the HDNet/HDmvs channels.  The variation of programming outstanding IMHO.  I am especially enjoy the soccer matches.  There are MLS (Major League Soccer) games being broadcast each week featuring glorious camera work that is mating itself wonderfully to soccer.  Unlike NFL where so much of the focus is on the quartback (which sort of defeats the purpose of using w...i...d...e...s...c...r...e...e...n to view more action), the long shots are incredible.  I can witness the games flow, overlapping runs pulling defenders out of position, creation of space....ahhh.

And the picture is gorgeous.  It's drawing me into the MLS and away from the Prem' on some games.  Two goals (<---- a pun) are being accomplished:  1)  HD is being watched, 2)  U.S. Soccer is being watched.

As usual - the american broadcasting is really not good, but the surround sound and brilliant pq is worth it.

Tonight, I watched the U.S. play Mexico in a "friendly" (sort of like pre-season for you NFL nuts - however, with a bit more passion) and flicked back between a grainy, streatched FSW on digital TWC and the glorious clarity of HDNet - what a treat.   If you're not a soccer fan - at least check it out for the picture - especially when playing the soccer only venues (like Home Depot Stadium)

enjoy....

The channels offer something for everyone. Makes you really want to get a HD Tivo or DVR to record it when time permits, to watch the HD showing you prefer. Thank you, Mr. Cuban!:)

I had friends over last night to show the house and turned on the 65" Mits to HDNET and the soccer was on and they said it was like looking through a window. Though they weren't big on soccer, they stopped right in their tracks, sat down awhile and marveled at the picture. Then I put on HD Discovery to allow the realize there was more than just that one channel and they asked how much and how to get HDTV :D

It is always amazing to watch peoples faces when they see HDTV and then they start asking the usual questions. I also told them to visit our forum for more information if they couldn't find me.

Hopefully, with the 7S satellite launching soon and the HD PVRs coming out to the buying/renting subscribers (sometime this year) we will be able to time-shift  our HD programmes as well  as get some more HD channels of this caliber when the competition for HD channel additions heats up again.;)

It seems that for end of April, we are like in a HDTV "dead zone":
like we're between the time when new HD channels and PVRs are coming out and what occurred last year when TWC and Directv added channels and the news about HD PVRs came out and now, we still wait for something to occur in maybe May or June. At least we have HDNET and HDNET movies to keep us somewhat contented. I am sort of impatient, but I don't know about the rest of us HDTV owners!
