Actually, according to the site, it's June.  Of course, in the Home Theater Spot! forums, he posted May.  I've sent an e-mail asking about the tour, but haven't gotten a reply yet.

Do you know who's co-ordinating the tour?

Actually its May. He'll be at my house on the 28th. As far as I know I'm the only one here on the Milwaukee tour.

I hooked him up with a couple places to find used vinyl in the area over on the SpOt.

 He stated he would be in the Milw area at the end of May.

Yeah, I just got a reply from him.  And slots are still open, so I'm thinking about a follow-up visit. :)

It's OK, Paul. I was just backing you up!

guys who have had their t.v isf calibrated please tell me why I should have this done!!! I have interest in eliab coming to my house to calibrate my hitachi 57 incher
thanks

Why? A lot depends on the current quality of your picture right now.

I would assume you've probably done basic calibration and convergence work using the Avia DVD or the like.  However, for my set, the biggest advantage of calibration was the proper color settings.  Without expensive equipment, that's rather hard to get right.

But, other things, such as geometry, alignment, focus of all 3 guns, removing the 'glare screen', etc. all proved to be quite benificial with professional calibration vs. my amature attempts.  :)

BTW, after talking with Eliab, since I co-ordinated the tour last year, he said that I could co-ordinate this tour as well.  I'll looking at doing a follow-up visit myself.

Right now, he're the current schedule, if you haven't seen it:

1.  Friday, May 28th at 4:00 PM - RESERVED
2.  Sunday, May 30th at 9:30 AM
3.  Sunday, May 30th at 4:00 PM
4.  Monday, May 31st at 9:30 AM
5.  Monday, May 31st at 4:00 PM
6.  Tuesday, June 1st at 9:30 AM

And from Eliab himself:
==========
As you can see, this will be a brief tour and only one time slot has
been solidified.  However, I'm waiting to hear back from 2 possible candidates today so there may only be three slots available by tomorrow.  Also, traveling fees for this tour are going to cost me over $650.00 which divided by 6 is over $100.00 per person although I'm only going to be asking for $75.00 per participant.  I'll also be employing the same driving system as before.
==========

So, once I find out if the 2 other possible times are, I'll post them.  If anyone else is interested, feel free to shoot me an e-mail at rickneff@aol.com and I can start the scheduling process.  I'll be sending a post out, similar to last year, that goes into more detail of what's needed before Eliab arrives.

Paul S.

That reserved spot is mine ;) I think I get to pick him up from the airport. I wonder how long its gonna take him- get here at 4pm, do almost a full calibration, leave at ??? I might hafta take him to the hotel at the wee hours of the morning, and then leave for camping :(

When Eliab calibrated my set last year, he didn't get done until after 10pm that night.  A lot depends on exactly how much work needs to be done on the set and the like.

However, he really is a very hard and detailed worker.  He very rarely stops what he's doing, but will answer any questions you have.

After he's done, he'll view a variety of DVDs to show the difference in the picture quality with those same DVDs before he started the calibration.  The typical DVDs to have on hand would be the following:

-Fifth Element (superbit)
-Bandits (Which was one of his favs last year)
-Some others I can't recall.

(He wasn't big on the computer or animated titles for demo purposes.  Rather, he was looking for more realistic colors to show off.)

If you want a lens hood, you might want to have some spare cardboard handy. Additionally, you'll probably want some cotton sheets handy to rest the screen on.
