I could attempt at sending them an email asking whats happening with WVTV-DT.

The last time I sent them email was about WVTV broadcasting in HD I did receive an answer and that was 2 months ago.  Back then they said they were waiting for HD equipment to install so that they can broadcast some of the WB programs in HD.

QuoteTemporary WVTV - Channel 61 transmitter problem..
[/SIZE] [/B]

Well, when someone first asked about 24-2, I checked and found it broadcasted WVTV-DT, at the sametime ch. 61 was still on the air with 18-1 the same as 24-2 and TP on 18-2 in 1080i on Tuesday.  But the next day Wednesday ch. 61 was gone.

So I figured something is up.  Certainly I doubt anyone would give up the 2nd DTV operation, otherwise that means that Sinclair would make the channel available to someone else who wants to startup another new TV station.  Thus I had to rule that out.

If it means replacing a part in the transmitter, it can take a couple of weeks for the part to arrive from Italy.  Even our local VHF Analog TV stations get their parts from Italy and shipping such parts take at least 2 to 3 weeks.  For sure WITI-TV does.  They are probably waiting for another part from Italy to complete the move of their DTV transmitter to the big tower in Esta Brook Park.

Course maybe nowadays they order their TV transmitter parts from China???

I don't think HDTVs are made in America.  I believe they are manufactured now in non-union shops in China where they can hire workers 25 cents a day to build them and have no benefits, etc.
