Anyone use DirecTV DVR with Tivo + HDTV?

Hello,

Just wondering if any of the D* subscribers use the D* DVR with Tivo box with an HDTV receiver on the same TV, and if so how it's working out. I want Tivo SO bad and am thinking about getting their box for $99 along with my HD box (hopefully for $99 as well). Also, if I do this I will have an HD box, a regular box, and a Tivo box... will I have to pay for two extra receivers in my place instead of just one (I currently just have two plain RCA sat. boxes)?

Thanks!

I don't have your exact setup, but I am doing what you are asking about.

I have TWC and hook up my HD tuner to input one and my SD DVR to input two.

It works fine for now until I can have the HD DVR. It records all the shows on the SD DVR. If I can't watch a show live time in HD through the input one and HD box, then I can go back at a later time and at least watch the show in SD through input two and the SD DVR box. It is better than missing the program.

If your watching an SD program live time, you might as well watch using the SD DVR box so you have the features of pausing live TV. SD is the same quality on both boxes.

I have that setup. No problem. You'll have to pay 4.99 for each additional box.

sp44again,

So if I have one HD box, one Tivo box (from D*), and one regular SD box, is it just an extra $4.99 or an extra $9.98?

Thanks!

The first box is free, every box after is $4.99. That means your non-programming mirroring fee is 2 X $4.99. The Directivo is an extra $4.99/mo UNLESS you carry the Total Choice Premium package (basically every channel Directv offers), in which case they waive the fee.

$4.99 X 3 = $14.97

Hope this helps
Matt
