We have Direct TV and yesterday had a receiver installed for HDTV
when the technician scanned all the channels in he was unable to scan in Channel 58 or CBS.
So my ? is - Does Channel 58 or CBS broadcast High Definition in this area?
Should I try to rescan the channels in myself or do I need to have a technician come out to do it for us?
We live in the Wales - Genesee Depot area.
Everything else seems to be coming in with no problem
Thanks

Jeff probably just has to do with your antenna situation.  Yes 58 does transmit on digital (and remaps to channels 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 ect.) where they are simulcasting the NCAA but 58 also has the most HD programming of any station (other than channel 36's digital on 35) in the area.  However 58 is running medium/low power from their tower site and in your location you will probably need a good outdoor antenna to receive them.

Good luck and welcome.

Jeff,

I live on the sw side of Waukesha (59/XX) and pick it up with an attic mounted antenna.  Like Gregg said it may be an antenna issue although I don't think CBS 58 is broadcasting at full power yet.  I get 4-1 & 12-1 @ 100% while 58-1 is at about 35 - 46%.  On real windy days i do get drop outs with 58 and not the other OTA stations.  You won't get Fox OTA yet, but we are supposed to be getting it in "the near future" on Directv.

Does anyone think I need my antenna readjusted to stop the drop outs on the windy days?  Or when is 58 going full power?

Greg Oman

Just to clarify here, CBS Milwaukee WDJT-DT is 46  ;)

As Gregg states, a good outdoor antenna may be needed, although I've had problems the past few days.  My dad lives in Eagle, and usually can receive them OK.  We both use a Channelmaster 4228 antenna.  Usually WDJT is pretty solid at my home in southeast Waukesha.

Hope this helps!

Yes, your right.  My box just remaps it to 58-1,2,3,4,5.
