new tv tower for Madison

The iron is showing up in the yard of WMTV along the beltline in Madison.

The new tower will be built 20 ft south of the existing tower.  It will be 1299 ft tall.  The current tower is 1046 ft.  WB 57 and WMTV will relocate to the new tower by hopefully August 1st.  Soon after all the tenants are moved to the new tower, the old one will come down.

WB 57 broadcasting from the Evansville area will then move their analog and digital channels to the Madison tower.

The dead end road that WMTV sits on now (Forward Drive) will be extended under the beltine in the next few years.  The existing tower has a guy anchor at the end of the road.  The new anchor will be on the other side of the tunnel that will be built for the road.
