COMPETITIVE WATCH: Encore HD Launches March 22

PanAmSat and Starz Encore Group signed a 15-year transponder deal for satellite delivery of the Encore HD high-def premium movie channel on Galaxy 13/Horizons-1. Galaxy 13 is the home to an HDTV neighborhood featuring Cinemax HD, HBO HDTV, HDNet, HDNet Movies, Wealth TV, STARZ! HD and TNT HD. Starz Encore said it will launch the high-def channel March 22.

Oh Great...another HD channel no provider (except Voom) will carry!:(

Cinemax HD, Starz!HD and The Movie Channel HD are carried only by a few cable operators outside the Milwaukee area unless you subscribe to Voom's service.

 TNT HD...I thought it will be started up in May? :eek:

Oh well, I guess we should be happy with the HD channels we DO have, rather than ranting on ones we don't-but that all could change with the ability to record on a TWC HD DVR or a HD Tivo.:eek:
