Just tuned in to 506 (fox-"HD") for Star Wars Ep I and noticed  it was stretched.  I double checked my Mits and noticed it was in "Stretched" and not "Standard".  I changed it and the picture still did not look right.  I, then scrolled through the Pioneer's aspect ratios which, up until now were "Widescreen 16:9", "Zoom 16:9" and "Standard 4:3" AND, they were not available on the HD channels.

Now, it appears, there are diff. settings even for the HD channels, PLUS, there is a new feature called "Squeeze 16:9".  Changing it to Squeeze fixed my issue.

My questions is - what is the "Squeeze"?

Ok.

Now, I can no longer change the aspect ration on the non-HD (i.e. digital and analog channels) *unless* I first change to an HD channel - make the change there and then navigate back to the channel I was on.  This means, therefore, that I can only view non-HD content in "Zoom", "Letterbox" and "Stretch" modes (since 4:3 is not avail on HD mode), meaning I can only watch my FoxSportsWorld footie distorted (as well as any other non-HD station)- meaning streched, etc, unless I use my mitsubishi's "normal" view and goto an HD channel and select "stretch" and re-navigate back to FSW.

I believe a firmware update was pushed last night as it hosed my ability to rent inDemand films (well, I could rent them, just not view them).

This seems to be a bit of a bother.  I hope this gets fixed.

Sure would like those Comcast boxes that you can use as a HD PVR with a Mac.
