yah i guess i'm not that upset about it cuz i remember watching "hi-def" football games on fox when i had cable and they were nothing short of awful.  thank goodness they didn't have the sb this year.  just think, we may not have been able to count the rays on janet's sunburst sticker.

oooh sorry.

Those were "Enhanced Definition Widescreen" otherwise known as "let's give them crap, and promote the heck out of and maybe they'll buy our B.S.

They've now decided that the public really wants true HD, and so Fox will be doing 720p this Fall...same as ABC does.

All I have to say, is if it's a matter of money, then commercial broadcasting is in a world of hurt  and we all owe a lot of thanks and gratitude to all the individuals and corporations that support public broadcasting, nationaly and here in Milwaukee.  Because if PBS in Milwaukee can do the job that they do with 2 digital (one of which is multicast and the other HD) and 2 analog transmissions.  There shouldn't be any excuse for the others for not stepping up to the plate.  Don't get me wrong, I for one think the staff at WITI are a great bunch of people that offer many excellent services.  Some of which I have used in the past.  I'm sure if it were only up to them and that they had the resources, things would be moving much faster.  I know it's hard to wait, but digital TV and HD is here to stay and things are not going to go backwards.

Hopefully Fox and CBS will do more than one game a week in HD this year.  I dont expect every game to be in HD but I do expect all playoff games to be in HD and about 1/3 of all local games to be in HD.

well, it obviously needs to be asked.. we have had decent weather on and off for almost a week now.. has there been any status on the new tower at all yet?

Tower work has started again at the WITI site.  THe old standby antenna is on the Southwest leg of the tower, much higher than before.  I would think over the next few months we should see the DTV antenna being put up.
