MrYeti you handled your temper well and state the facts well and offered an ultimatum.  Any reputable company would do anything and everything to honor their obligation.  I have to give TWC a little tip of the hat for being forthright and resolving the situation to your delight.  

Of course I would never have called them...I'm too much in love with Directv and have been a customer of theirs since 1997.

Thanks, guys. Much of the success I had in getting TWC to see things my way is directly attributable to members of this board. I have to give Time Warner credit for taking care of the situation and making it clear that they want to continue to do business with me, after only a moderate amount of prodding.

I am a bit curious as to where this box is coming from, however. First there wouldn't be any until mid-December, and now I get one Monday?

A special hats-off to Kerry, who helpfully provided the information about the box he returned. You wouldn't happen to know the serial number of this box, would you? I'd love to know if I was getting the same one. Wouldn't that be a hoot?

Monday, I suspect, is going to be a very long day at work, waiting to go home to my HDTV. Good times.
