CBS HD is on Directv as of today (Jan 30, 2004) however Milwaukee is not and O&O market so it's not available here.  However viewers from the Green Bay market should be able to receive it as their local CBS is O&O.

Channel 80 is CBS-East
Channel 81 is CBS-West

Hear, hear. Hopefully, D* will get it on the bird about the time Fox actually starts broadcasting true HD.

I am a subscriber of Green Bay locals on Direct TV, called yesterday and they told me I am not eligible to get the HD feed because WFRV out of Green Bay isn't giving out any waivers.  No problem since I do recieve the station fine in Fond du Lac.

WFRV shouldn't have to give you waiver. I think one of the other CBS stations you get, should give you the waiver. Does Milwaukee or Madison CBS come in good in Fondy? I think you have overlaping from these cities. So you would need to get a waiver from those stations. WFRV is owned by CBS. Even though I can get WFRV, it's nice to get the New York feed. If you like sports, they usually have a different game on than WFRV. It's nice to have more choices.

Sunday when I called Direct TV they asked if I wanted to apply for a waiver and that they would do the paper work or what ever for me.  They said it probably take forty five days for an answer.
In Fond du Lac I am able to recieve the CBS HD signal from both Green Bay and Madison,  maybe someday channel 58 from Milwaukee might boost their power so I can recieve them too.

Fond du Lac is in Green Bay's DMA. It is NOT in Madison's DMA at all (not even a grade B signal). Neither of you require a waiver. Call DirecTV and dial the extension on the bottom of the CBS feed. Do not talk to a customer representative. Dial the extension directly. Green Bay is listed on the CBS-HD info screen as a market that qualifies. There is no waiver involved. Unfortunately judging by conversations on avs, standard D* reps don't understand this. From what I have read if you dial the extension given on the screen (probably 721) you will get to where you need to go and they will turn it on for you.

Thanks
called Direct TV again and they turned channel 80 on for me.  should be interesting to see a local from New York

yeah, it should be interesting... that is why I am anxsious for them to get the Fox feed up... even after WITI goes full power from their new tower it will still be nice to have an extra channel for choices to choose from.....

glad you got it up and going...

Some people do need waivers in Green Bay's southern viewing area. If they get at least a grade B signal from another market. Channel 82 on "D" explains this. I wish everyone could get the nationals. I wont be able to get the Fox feed when it comes on.
