Time Warner's Milwaukee Division will be launching two additional services to thier HD lineup on Janary 29th, 2004.

HDNet will launch on channel 547
HDNet Movies will launch on channel 548

Both services will be added to the existing $6.95/month HD package which currently contains INHD & INHD2.  There will be no change in the package pricing.

Weeks ago, I mentioned that a TWC CSR, assisting me said " I thought is was the 29th?"  Since I knew the launch dates of TWC channel additions are only on weekdays, a February 29th date, being a Sunday, was not a good date.
So my assumption and the CSR's question (answer) were correct, afterall. :)

You, Mhz40, said that is was a possibility...and you are right, too!

Anyway, thanks for the confirmation...its another good reason  to have TWC for all your HDTV needs and I don't miss Directv anymore!
Let's count: With HD locals (if you count FOX) and the occasional FOX Sports Net HD - that should make it 13 HD channel offerings if you subscribe to HBO/Sho and the HD package for $6.95, which is a good buy for 4  HD channels-now-less than DirecTV's $10.99,(even without ESPN-HD's part-time HD offerings)!

Thanks again!

FoxSportsNet HD isn't part-time? I think it's less than that.

Yup, it sure is!  Just like it was advertized....  It's also included in the digital basic package, not in the HD one.

That's great news!  Once TWC gets ESPN HD, it will complete an outstanding HD offering.

...whatever that means :)  I flicked through this morning and got great signal, no audio dropouts, etc.  The movie linup on HDNet Movies for the next couple of days includes:

Bonfire of the Vanities
Shawshank Redemption
City Slickers 2
Repo Man
Stroker Ace
Power (Gene Hackman rules)
A Paul Newman flick (he rules, too)

That's all I could pull from memory.

plus, of course, I don't have to go to Green Bay to see Super Bowl in HiDef (sorry, wrong thread for Cable v Sat  - however, props to TWC, once again :D )

Does anybody know if TWC will be able to carry the NHL Hockey games that HD NEt broadcasts on Tuesday and Friday nights?  Or will they be blacked out?

I'm not a big hockey fan but I must say HD hockey does a lot of good for the viewing pleasure of the sport.  The college hockey on InHD looks very good and if it wasn't in HD I would never watch it.

From my understanding, the only game on their remaining schedule that we will not see is the 2/29 home game for the Minnesota Wild.

According to Fox Sports North, the northern half of Milwaukee and points north are considered the home market for the Minnesota Wild.  Their home games are currently blacked out on the NHL Center Ice package, so I would imagine they probably will be blacked out on HDNet as well.

Do you know what OTA means? :bang:

Will HDNet have MLB this year, I think they did last year. And when ESPN HD comes though, will it be under the TWC HD pay package.

Joel S

I believe INHD will be doing MLB games this year (3 or 4 pre week) and HD Net no longer does MLB.

I don't think ESPN HD will be part of the HD Package.  This is the whole reason TWC still has no contract for ESPN HD because they don't feel we/they should pay extra for ESPN HD since the content is the same as the analog ESPN.

randro

I was debating whether to get the HD pay package. HDNet doesn't have  very impressive sports programming. But once baseball season starts it'll be worth it for the INHD MLB coverage. Maybe they'll have it be the clear for a while like there doing with the NBA games.

TWC told me another reason for no agreement with ESPN is that ESPN does not charge Direct TV for the HD feed and that would make it unfair to charge TWC.

When they have game in HD it is awesome.
So that is why it is different and IT IS WORTH TO PAY EXTRA FOR THAT. IT IS HD!

Andrew (enjoying ESPN HD content with Dish Network)

Generally speaking; Milw, Wauk., Ozauke, Wash. & Jefferson counties will have NHL from the Minnesota team blacked out.  Keno., Racine & Walworth will have Chicago NHL blacked out.
Sorry I don't know the team names... not a big fan.
