I was watching "The Simpsons" on TWC 506 and there was a "commentary" track in the front center describing the action.  When I switched to channel 6, it wasn't there.

Does anyone know if this is a new feature or something?

I don't know, but it freaked me out.  I finally turned to analog Fox 6.   It was kinda cool, but it was really distracting, too.

I'm sure you've seen in the past that WMVS and WMVT offer descriptive audio service for some of their programming on their analog channels.  The descriptive service you were seeing is a part of the PSIP data on digital channels.  It is available on a few programs.  It looks like TWC's decoder was decoding this and adding it to the stream it was sending down it's cable.  I'm sure they'll figure this out and fix it so it doesn't happen again.  OTA receivers allow you to turn this off and on.

There are a lot of different things available on ATSC digital PSIP streams and you'll be seeing more and more as time goes by.

it wasn't just WITI... on avsforum everyone is saying the same thing.. It appears Fox hq accidentally sent out the Fox Digital signal with DVS turned on...
