Kevin Arnold

They have posted additional information on their PSIP saying "Waiting for parts'. Nice of them to post that.

Hey Kevin... cut that out!

You can't say nice things about 18.

We don't ALLOW that around here...

Maybe they are watching this forum?

If so, please add Dolby Digital 5.1 sound :)

I hope they tag their HD programming in the guide like 4-1 does.  That is nice.

Too bad it's never correct. The Apprentice on 4-1 was tagged last night but wasn't in HD.

It'd be nice if people got this psip thing working right...it shows up on one of my receivers but the Sony doesn't show anything for 18.

18-2 has only existed for a short period of time.  There is no reason to jump to the conclusion that it will turn in to a permanent color bar situation.

The channel information is as follows:

18-1 WB 18 SD
"DTV Program"

18-2 WB 18 HD
"Testing HD Encoder for WB -W"

To me, that sounds promising.  Heck, they even went through the trouble to build program guide data going forward.  I hope they tag their HD programming in the guide like 4-1 does.  That is nice.

Starving, I hope to god you are right and *I* am wrong!!!
Further info I collected within the last 24 hours is that most Sinclair owned stations who are affiliated with the major networks are offering them in HD, except for Greensboro, NC the ABC affiliate.

The WB affiliate in Minneapolis, MN KMWB-TV which I think is on ch. 23 is owned by Sinclair and broadcasting WB programming in HD.

Also thank you for listing

 18-2 WB 18 HD
"Testing HD Encoder for WB -W"

My Win-TV-D card lists it as (WB18  SD) for the standard channel, and (WB18 HD) for the high definition channel with the color bars, but it does not go further to list "Testing HD Encoder for WB -W". Therefore that sounds to me they are gearing up to provide WB programming soon in HD.

I notice they changed something at WCGV-DT, which used to say (WCGV Digital), now it says (UPN24 S).  Perhaps we could see a HD signal from WCGV someday soon?

I know I should get a real TV, and eventually that will happen.  But with my wages cut, lack of space will put it off for now, UNLESS my Magnavox 27" TV decides to die...then I'll take out a loan.

BTW: Milwaukee Brewers are For Sale!

When I had the Sony HD200 it didn't give out guide information at all.  I used it for over the air only.  I'm sure yours is getting guide information from DirecTV, not from the stations themselves.

To kill another bird with this post, 4-1 is almost always right when they tag a show as HD in the guide.

And a final bird to kill, I get the information about 18-1 and 18-2 when I push the INFO button on my Samsung SIR-T151 over the air HDTV set top box's remote.

My wife will only let me use my half of our money so anyone want to go in with me to buy the Brewers and move them to a warmer climate.
