Attic Antenna: Need help, do i just take the one off my roof and stick it in the attic? Building a new house and subdivision rules prohibit roof top antennas. It is out in johnson creek, just wondering what to do seeings charter doesnt have their act together yet. Thanks for any help:)

You can use the outdoor antenna in the attic by just using a shortened mast and bolting it to one of the roof joists. Reception will be probably around one-half that of a roof antenna.  Since you are in Johnson Creek you have a good chance of receiving Madison Digital much easier than Milwaukee's.
Subdivision rules CANNOT prohibit you from a roof antenna if that is what is required to get a "good" picture. This is per FCC rule. You would probably have to fight the powers that be but eventually would prevail.  Just a thought.  Check the FCC site for details.

Any luck with your antenna in attic.  I tried it in Jefferson, but could not get any signal on a samsung t151.  I put one up then on the side of the house at 30 feet but still 20  - 40 % signal strenght.  Have charter hd package also, but they still don't have it together and I can't see them doing anything too soon.  Let me know if you had any luck or just headaches.

I tried a radio shack preamp back when I lived in Fort, but did not notice any improvement there.  I am looking at getting a better preamp this time around. I don't know if I will do that until we get a warm up though as the roof is a little slick right now.
