I am surprised no one has posted this.
O&O ENHANCED FOX TO BE ON DIRECTV

I will FINALLY be able to see that 480p broadcasting that has made FOX such a FAUX!
;)

Milwaukee is a FOX O&O.

Fox 6 on Directv? Yes!
According to some of the people over @ AVS forum CBS & FOX have agreements to provide the national feed for their signal for people in the O&O DMA markets. (according to the Directv Press release here)

Later in the thread it lists the stations that this applies to and although our Milwaukee CBS affiliate is not in this group the Milwaukee WITI 33 is listed. Does this sound right? So according to the Press Release and the lists of stations who are O&O DMA markets FOX national feed will be available to us who have Directv in a few weeks.

Any thoughts or corrections?

Old News, But GOOD News!

foxeng

Let me rain on your parade a sec.

First off, WITI is owned by FOX and does qualify.

Second. the agreement between FOX and D* HAS NOT BEEN SIGNED. (but it is a done deal, DUH!)

Third, the talk is FOX HD, NOT FOX ED. Of course we will not know until the above mentioned agreement is signed and posted.

Fourth, if it is FOX HD, it will not happen until the fall when the network offers 720p. If it is FOX ED, it may take several months.

Fifth, the "HD" feed will be WNYW-DT (for Milwaukee) and NOT WITI-DT.

Clap/cry as you see fit.

Oh man...your right. I didn't see that earlier thread.  Props to smack  for posting. I just got excited to read this news.

And to foxeng.....I would rather be assured that I'll have next seasons NFL on FOX in HD than worry about our local having the signal to go in time. And mentioned in other threads : even if FOX gets up on their big tower, it is no assurance they'll be at full power or that we'll be able to receive them any better.

Thats all I really care about....next seasons NFL HD games. I'm a football freak!
And yes I know it will only be the national game.....

And why would the feed from New York carry any but a few Green Bay games?  I don't think that this carriage will help any packer fans but perhaps we can become Giants fans.

Trust me....I can handle more than one football game on at a time ;)

I know we won't get Packers from NY FOX, but it is an extra football game, and one that will be in HD coming this fall. Like I said earlier, unless you are a cable subscriber I don't have a whole lot of faith that FOX will be any better in the spring/summer/fall of '04 than they are now as far as broadcasting goes. They haven't exactly earned my trust or confidence over the years.

Quite the dilema.  Who do you cheer for now?   Colt or Pats?

Yeah, so do we here in Carolina!
