WMLW now on TWC Ch 741

Just notice tonight that WMLW is now on channel 741 on TWC digital.

The picture quality is crap and it is clearly compressed to little more than 1.5mbs (my guess) but the significance is that this is one of Jim Hall's CBS58 stations.

I may be mis-quoting here (sorry Jim if I am) but my understanding from a long time ago, was that CBS58 would not provide a HD feed to TW because TW initially would not take their extra stations - namely 41.  

Now that 41 is on digitally, perhaps there is hope that we may get CBS in HD sometime in the next couple of months??  

If Jim really wants to be the number 1 station in Milwaukee, should he not be the first network affiliate to transmit HDTV through cable?  Perhaps they're secretly planning an eleventh hour strike, and intend to launch before WTMJ-HD?

Ooooh!  Conspiracy deepens.  Both the CBS58 and WMLW41 websites are unavailable tonight...

Is this the end of CBS as we know it???

41 has been on TWC in Kenosha since early this year because of Marquette basketball.  Enough people complained that TWC had to put them on somewhere.

Definately looks like TW Kenosha and TW Milwaukee run as completely different entities.

I noticed last week on 41's web site that they had an announcement that they were now on 741 on TWC.  However at the time when I checked the channel was not live on my system.

This means that it went live only a few days or so ago.

I also note that Telemundo is also on 763 (I think).  Isn't this CBS's channel 1.3?

Now all I would want is 1.1 or CBS HD on 758 (or 701 or 705... choose you channel here)

WMLW has been on TWC since March or April.  I believe that TWC gets it's feed of 41&63 from the channel 58 DT signal.  TWC does not want to add local stations unless they have to. There is always more going on than people know.
