According to some of the people over @ AVS forum  CBS & FOX have agreements to provide the national feed for their signal for people in the O&O DMA markets.  (according to the Directv Press release here)

Later in the thread it lists the stations that this applies to and although our Milwaukee CBS affiliate is not in this group the Milwaukee WITI 33 is listed.  Does this sound right?  So according to the Press Release and the lists of stations who are O&O DMA markets FOX national feed will be available to us who have Directv in a few weeks.

Any thoughts or corrections?

Mags

To finally be able to get a signal for FOX HD/ED....

I was disappointed to see no mention of FOX SPORTSNET HD...

That will be a huge advantage for TW if they can offer this channel and D* does not - as our local teams would be super to be able to watch in HD

The Law

Fox Sports Net HD was added today to TWC on channel 540....

Thats funny wasn't the first of TWO Bucks games in HD on last night. Seems like Time Warner is always a day late and a dollar more.

So if I lived in Green Bay, I'd get CBS HD but not milwaukee?
Typical DirecTV BS.

The press release says that the CBS HD agreement is in place and it will be up before the Super Bowl.

FOX HD agreement will be reached in a few weeks (it is a done deal) but there was no time table announced on when it would start but a good guess would be when the network begins 720p in the fall.

If the CBS and/or FOX station in your market is owned and operated by CBS or FOX, then you will get the new channel. If not, the you can try for a waiver with the station.

Both channels are tied to the local package which means you must be a subscriber to the local package to get the HD channel for free not the HD package.

Those in the Eastern and Central time zones will receive WCBS HD for CBS and WNYW HD for FOX and for the Mountain and West time zones, KCBS HD for CBS and KTTV HD for FOX.

WITI is owned and operated by FOX so WNYW HD will be available in the Milwaukee market.

Well this is great news for those of us who have D* and can't pull in Fox OTA. (at least until they power up).  Note:  Wait until they get the 7s bird operational for what could/should be a bunch more HD channels on Directv.  No mention however of Fox sports HD for us D* subscribers.

I am just glad that it should be done by next years NFL.  Not sure how many games a week Fox will do in HD but i don't want to miss any HD packer games because of the weak OTA Fox signal.
