Everytime a game is on channel 84, I get blacked out. I called Directv twice about this. The first time they didn't even know about the NBA on channel 84. The second time they told me to call when a game is on again. So tonight I will have to check again. Has anybody else been able to get these games?

These are the Dallas Maverick games that Mark Cuban (HDnet) televises.  Due to the Blackout rules of the NBA only people in the home market of Dallas get these games.  With Directv you can not receive any HD NBA games unless they are broadcast on ESPNHD.  Here is the link to the ESPNHD schedule from 1/9 - 3/26/04.

Even if you subscribe to the NBA channel with League pass you do not get the games that the NBA channel does in HD at this time.  I believe Directv last year did a special broadcast of All-star weekend on a special events channel though so we will have to wait and see if it is done again this year.

You can also check out avsforum.com and go down to the programming thread.  They have alot of info listed about HD sports (NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL and other programming as well.

Thanks for the info, smack.  That kinda stinks. Somebody posted that Dish carries them. Directv better get on the ball here with HD or they will soon lose a customer. If they didn't carry the NFL package, I would be with dish or the new VOOM.
