This happened about 2 months ago. For those that haven't read or heard about it then let me tell you. They have come up with UHDV (Ultra High-Def Video) which is 16-times sharper then our current 1080i res. UHDV is 4000 lines on screen. Japan Broadcasting Corp. (NHK) made a custom camera and display to show it off. To film the 18 min. demo loop, it took 16 HD recorders and 3.5 terabytes (3,500 GB) to record. It was so sharp that some viewers of it got sick from the motion on screen which was filmed with the camera mounted on the front of a moving truck. That's too cool! Do a search on "UHDV" to get details.

WOW!  It's probably going to be used for medical purposes.

I'm just waiting for compression schemes to improve to allow 1080p@60fps.  That would be sweet.

Going through CRT withdrawal.  Patiently waiting for OLED.
