Anyone else use these things? They haul total ass! The one I bought for around $150 has all types of noise filters and surge protection. It really makes a difference in sound/picture quality.

Not too long ago I sold my Monster HTS3500 to a fellow forum member so I could upgrade to the Monster HTS5100. I enjoyed both, and it also give piece of mind. I have a 90 year old house and most of the wiring is 90 years old. I do plan on getting a dedicated 20a line run to the theater someday, but until then the Monster does a damn good job.
I know that Monster is the company that everyone LOVES to hate, but I have always been impressed with the build quality of everything they make, and I believe that thay are as competatively priced as any other quality cable maker out there...actually ALOT less pricey that Tributaries or BetterCablesjust to name a few.

hey Paul

Yes I've been using the htps 1000 for about 2yrs. now, it made such an inprovement that I now popped for the HTPS 7000. Holy crap the bass is tighter the sound is more full the Video is crisper IMHO its 110% worth the heafity price (I got a pretty decent deal).

Will I really see and hear a difference if I switch from my $15 power strip? Truly?

Of course your milage may vary.  I am generally not a fan of most Monster stuff.   Too expensive for what you get.  I am a big fan of the power series however.  I have the 2500 and it did improve my picture and sound.  Best $150 I ever spent.  Go to ebay and get them for near half price.  If it doesn't work for you, you can resell it and not lose to much.
