28 Local Stations Make Transition To Dtv

WASHINGTON, DC - The National Association of Broadcasters announced today that 28 local broadcast stations have joined the list of television stations broadcasting in digital, bringing the total number of DTV stations on air to 1,129 in 202 markets that serve 99.35% of U.S. TV Households.
Below is a list of the new DTV stations.

WANE Ft. Wayne, IN (market No. 104), LIN Television-owned CBS affiliate
WPXE Milwaukee, WI (market No. 31), Paxson owned and operated station
KFSF San Francisco (market No. 5), Univision-owned Telefutura affiliate
WNBC New York (market No. 1), NBC-owned and -operated station (DTV transmission was previously disrupted on Sept. 11)
KTTW Sioux Falls, SD (market No. 112), singly owned FOX affiliate
KTTM Huron, SD (market No. 112), singly owned FOX affiliate
WMBD Peoria, IL (market No. 117), Nexstar-owned CBS affiliate
WWTI Watertown, NY (market No. 176), Clear Channel-owned ABC affiliate
KTLM Brownsville, TX (market No. 97), Sunbelt-owned Telemundo affiliate
WRNN New York (market No. 1), singly owned independent
KDLH Duluth, MN (market No. 136), Chelsey-owned CBS affiliate
KGUN Tucson, AZ (market No. 74), Emmis-owned ABC affiliate
KMEG Sioux City, IA (market No. 140), Waitt-owned CBS affiliate
WSWP Grandview, WV (market No. 150), PBS member station
WTCI Chattanooga, TN (market No. 85), PBS member station
KREM Spokane, WA (market No. 79), Belo-owned CBS affiliate
KWBQ Albuquerque, NM (market No. 49), ACME-owned WB affiliate
KASY Albuquerque, NM (market No. 49), ACME-owned UPN affiliate
KQCA Sacramento, CA (market No. 19), Hearst-Argyle-owned WB affiliate
KLPB Lafayette, LA (market No. 124), PBS member station
WXTV Paterson, NJ (market No. 1), Univision owned and operated station
WFUT Newark, NJ (market No. 1), Univision-owned Telefutura affiliate
WUVP Philadelphia (market No. 4), Univision-owned and -operated station
KXLN Rosenburg, TX (market No. 11), Univision-owned and -operated station
WQHS Cleveland, OH (market No. 15), Univision-owned and -operated station
KTFD Denver (market No. 18), Univision-owned Telefutura affiliate
In addition, 84.15% of the more than 106 million U.S. TV households are in markets with five or more broadcasters airing DTV and 59.23% are in markets with eight or more broadcasters sending digital signals.

The National Association of Broadcasters is a full-service trade association that promotes and protects free, over-the-air local radio and television stations' interests in Washington and around the world. NAB is the broadcaster's voice before Congress, federal agencies and the courts. NAB also serves a growing number of associate and international broadcaster members.
