This looks like a great unit. Question - Will you be buying the extended service plan?

In my humble opion, the Service Plans on new technolgy and high price items such as HDTV's is well worth it.  I bought the plan on my 61" RCA I bought over 2 years ago and when it failed (due to lightning damage, which is covered) they just gave me an in store credit for the full amount I paid for it, less the portion of the Service Plan I used.  In the end I came up with a larger/better/newer set and new STB and had money to spend on DVD's.  Of course they required me to buy a new Service Plan but I didn't have a problem with that.  The interesting part was how cheap the Sony SAT200HD plan was.  For a $700 box, the 5 year plan was only $37.00.  Well worth it I feel.

Yeah, it carries over from the Toshiba we bought and are exchanging for it.

Just had Best Buy Service out. 3.5 years into my 4 year plan. Nice gentleman had to correct all of my geometry, by hand. He mentioned that their service call would have been nearly $300. Service plan was $299.

Money well spent, and he suggested that I re-up for at least one more year.
