I know this may have been addressed before, but here goes again:  I receive well, with no breakups, channels 4 and 12 HD programming, besides all of my DTV HD stuff.   I also get good digital signal from 24.  I am out of luck completely with channel 58.

I live in Hubertus (Richfield).

At one time, about four months ago, I was receiving 58 HD with no problems at all.  I use a Sony HD200 receiver.

Now, for at least the last four months, I get a "No Signal" screen when tuning to the 58 digital stations.  When I check the signal strengh on those channels, I get somewhere in the middle, or "good".

Is this that Fort Wayne problem?  What can I do, I want to watch the national NFL game in HD!

Thanks in advance to all of you folks, this is a great forum.

I'm having the same problem just north of Sussex.  I haven't watched CBS in awhile, but wanted to watch some NFL and now get almost 0 reception.  Previously it was in the 55-60 range.

Dear HDTV Viewers;

Can you post what both of you are using for antennas?

Well done, Jim!

ps...being a TWC customer, these issues do not necessarily pertain.  Nonetheless, credit should be acknowledged where credit is due.

When did Ch 63 change the calls to WYTU?

The call letters for Channel 63 were just recently changed from W63CU to WYTU on December 9, 2003.   The reason the data base from the FCC would seem to indicate otherwise is for the proper search for all filings involving the station.

The meaning of YTU in Spanish means "...And For You."

You are correct Jim I was too lazy to look thru all the filings.  But for a Spanish Speaking person I'm suprised I didn't notice Y Tu, the general translation meaning "and You".  Doh Me Sorry!

Jim,
I'm having a problem similar to what uwgb96 is.
My signal from 58 has never been as high as what I get on 4-1, 12-1 and 36-1, but I at least got enough of a signal for programming to come in without breakups.  For the last month or so now,  watching CSI in HD isn't worth it... breakups every minute make it unwatchable- not to mention the constant audio problems, and whenever I try to watch the HD football game there is so much pixelation (sp?) I don't get a clear picture for more than a couple of seconds at a time... again this makes it unwatchable.

Granted I'm limited to using a Zenith Silver Sensor indoor antenna (I live in an apartment building), but I used to get a nice clear picture using this same setup.   I never used to watch CSI until I started watching it in HD and now I'm hooked.

Gregg,  do you think using a signal amplifier would help me out?

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys may have, I'd like to get this fixed before the Superbowl!

Kevin Arnold

I don't know if a signal amp would help or not. Could try one from Radio Shack and return it if it doesn't.  Might want to try CBS from either Green Bay or Madison.  Green Bay is Ch. 56 and of course aim the silver sensor north.  Madison is 50 and aim west, south west.  Madison is almost full power and might be your best bet. Fooling around with Milwaukee's WDJT low power signal and its multicasting is a losing proposition.  Finding CBS programming from the other, more powerful stations, makes a lot of sense and avoids a tremendous amout of frustration.  Here in Hartland the CBS 58/46 signal takes a lot of adjustments and fooling around. Madison is quick and easy.  Good luck.

I live in Muskego and get WDJT-DT in very good.  No trouble here.
Madison's WISC-DT is full power???  Will have to give it a try during another opening someday.  Best I've done with Madison is receiving WHA-DT on ch. 20 here in Muskego.  If I get them next time, I'll be sure to try WISC-DT.

Well, guess what?  I now receive 58 HD, but it is because of an accident.  For the question above, I have a huge outdoor antenna, it works great.  I think I also mentioned I use the Sony 200 HD with local OTA and DTV.

I found 58 HD on channel 1.1.  Yep, I receive the HD picture fine on 1.1, but still can't get it on 58.1.  Is this what you call a mapping problem?

Anyway, I'm a happy camper, seeing all CBS on HD now.  Thanks for the reply.

Gregg Lengling

Yes this is called Mapping.  I also have the SAT200HD and you'll probably see the listing and channels of 58.1 ect...but that info is received from Directv down the satellite link, but doesn't really exist.  But when the box does the setup it also scans the OTA rf channels and finds the PSIP and Mapping and that's why you show 1.1 , 1.2, 1.3 ect channels.  But there is no information because WDJT doesn't send Program Info at this time on the PSIP data stream.

Thanks, Greg.  The funny thing is that when I check the signal strengh on 58.1, I get the same values as I do on 1.1, just no picture.  Seems kind of wierd.

Gregg Lengling

Yes you will see signal strength there because the download from the satellite redirects it to channel 46 RF where there real transmission is at.  However because the PSIP data doesn't match the remapping it will not display.  Whereas if you select 1.1 the remapping does match and the signal is decoded and displayed.
