Its been 2 to 3 months since I attempted to send WVTV a email message from their website. Each attempt failed. But tonight I tried it, posting a note this is what I stated, "I receive Digital broadcasts of WB18. I know that some WB network programs are in high definition. Does WB18 have any plans to air them in high definition someday?"

Once I submitted it, I got a Thank You response...which indicated the message has sent.  So now will see if I get a response.  If I get decent response, especially a good answer to my question I will pass it on.  I just hope they understand the difference between digital and high definition.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'll be curious to see if you get a response.   18 & 24 are owned by Sinclair Broadcasting Group - one of the cheapest, least viewer friendly owners in the field. The have a representative who sometime posts here and on AVS forum - Mr. DTV. When asked the same questions you are asking he gives evasive, non answers. I thought of this today as I watched the Packer game on one of Sinclair's stations: Fox 47 out of Madison. Though they have a digital signal they don't provide Fox Widescreen.  Sinclair makes K Mart look like Nieman Marcus.

Kevin,

First of all I'd be really surprised to receive a response. I'll give them until the first week of December to respond, if I don't hear from them after that then I probably won't hear anything.

Speaking of Mister DTV, is there a way I can find out the last time he was on here?  He's still listed on the membership list here. When was the last time he was in here?

Nevermind, I figured it out. His last post was about NFL Games being broadcasted in HDTV back on Dec. 23, 2002.

Will any of the NFL Playoffs be broadcast in HDTV?
Not sure if that is accurate as I sorta thought I remembered seeing something from him since then...but then again my memory is pretty foggy at times.

Why would he care?  Does any of his Sinclair stations broadcast in High Definition???  I feel sorry for those people in this country who's ABC, CBS, NBC, or Fox station that is owned by Sinclair, they are missing out on High Definition.  They most likely have the samething we have, a digital standard defintion signal rebroadcasting what is on their analog!

I seem to recall being in Danville, Ill last year and how the NBC affiliate is proud to be own and operated by Sinclair Broadcasting.

If you would have followed the link, you would've seen he didn't start the thread just responded to it.

Funny, Sinclair was the company that showed how inferior 8VSB is to COFDM a few years ago, so at the time they were on top of things? Well, that seems to have changed... Or maybe that's the reason they don't want to pull along, 'cuz the feds didn't listen?

I forgot I had started this thread a while back.

Well here it is, it's Christmas and to this day I still haven't received a reply to my email message I sent to WVTV/WCGV or Sinclair back on November 27th.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!
