My damn bunny chewed through the plastic sheilding and then to the TWC cable. She got through the rubber, then the silver wire lining, and exposed the cable. I wrapped it with electrical tape and checked out Discovery HD and everything sounds and looks fine. Should I get this replaced? I dont have any extra wire laying around and don't have the tools needed to put a new male end on, nor the means to splice it. Am I ok?

Sorry for the weird post!

You could splice it, but I'd simply advise you to run to the store (BB, CC, WalMart, etc) and get yourself a nice length of RG-6 cable and replace the whole thing.

It isn't expensive and then you won't second-guess the cable if there are future problems.

What tool do I need to put the new male ends on, and do I need a certain type?

Just get some Male-Male converters.  Im pretty sure that I found some at Radio Shack. So if you get a cable with female ends just get these converters if you need them and you should be fine.

You can also buy pre-cut and terminated RG-6 in various lenghts from Radio Shack.

Guess I wasn't clear (wouldn't be the first time !).

Like Matt said, pre-cut and terminated is the way to go for you.

Sorry ...

Todd.
