Damn those press releases which push those expectation levels up.  They are working hard.  Testing lots.  Reducing expectations a bit will help.  Much good to come.  Think high power (good signal seen by all) and 24X7XHD (when available by net).  Competition arrives.

(soon guys soon).  whooo hoooo

First of all, these deadlines have been around for many years. And that is not even including the extension. Are we trying to defend the procrastination??

Secondly, I quoted THEIR press release. Please don't spit in my eye and tell me it's raining.

Actually, I have learned to be patient over the last two years of empty promises. The reality is that network TV has been losing viewers steadily over the last several years. Finally, network TV has an advantage offer fractured Cable mini-networks, It's almost a study in edselism as to why the networks (save, of course, CBS) don't take advantage of this short window of opportunity?

QuoteThe last minute rush to go digital because, I'm sure, of financial pressures make an orderly transition difficult.

Which is why a commend CBS58 for how they handled it, although I can't stand the multicast. They knew it wasn't going to be simple and were testing and then up and running far in advance of the 5/1 deadline. They weren't the first, but they met their end of the FCC agreement and did so in an organized and prepared manner.

NBC and PBS obviously wanted to take the lead. PBS has turned into a comedy of errors running Barney, DragonTales, or Teletubbies at midnight instead of HD. It's nice to see a HD schedule though finally.

QuoteThey aren't used to dealing with installing what amounts to a brand new station and they're struggling to deal with it. Add to the mix that with the internet they're doing it in the public eye.

This might actually make for more entertainment than those eagles.
