Does anyone know the statistics for how often ESPN HD is truly broadcast in HD? For those of us paying extra each month for this service, I suggest we all call Direct TV and demand a refund until the service is actually delivered. How else can we get our voices heard?

Well, it's never been a secret that they only broadcast in HD maybe 3-4 times a week. Here's a link to the schedule they post on their web site:

The extra money is for the whole package. And I watch a lot more HDNet and Discovery than I do ESPN.   About the only thing I tune to ESPN HD for is the Sunday night HD football games.

Paying 11 bucks per month for HDnet, HDNet Movies, Discovery and ESPN HD, breaks down to less than three bucks per channel per month, or 90 cents a game.  That's not all that bad... How does that compare to the cost per SD game for Sunday Ticket?

As they roll out more HD channels, if it's for the same money it will be an increasing value. They just had better not start nickel and diming us for each new chanel they add...

Patience people, patience...
ESPN has said from the very beginning that there would be limited HD programming the first year, and that the Sportscenter wouldn't have their new HD production set until mid-2004.
Being an early adoptor (although not as early as some here...Tom:) ) I have learned that it will come eventually. I don't like it, but thats the way it works sometimes. Personally just having even one HD game a week is worth the price I pay. I've been waiting  for a long  time for HD football.

I don't have ESPN HD. But I will say this..... that is awful at how little is in HD. When you launch a channel that has HD in the title, you ought to have your act together from jump. HD a couple times a week is a rip off. Sportscenter in HD mid-2004?!?!  They should have waited a year to launch this channel when they had more HD stuff in the pipe!:bang:

I only watch Football and Golf...so I for one am happy they didn't wait any longer to launch the channel.  I only watched ESPN for things that weren't on local channels...but now I watch all the Football games on Sunday night on there.

Okay, okay, I'm with you guys. After watching the Packer game last night with all the drop-outs, I'll take the 3-4 times of quality programming per week on ESPN HD.

I am not sure what was going on last night, but I haven't seen that buggy of a telecast since some of the very first HD programs. Every few minutes there were picture scrambles, etc. One of the worst that I have ever seen.
