FTA w/ MyHD-120

A few people at work were talking about FTA and I saw the thread here as well.  I have been thinking about going with FTA but was not sure I could justify the startup cost since its more of a suppliment than a replacement for cable/traditional satellite.  Anyway, I just visited the website for my HDTV decoder card, the MyHD-120(http://www.mitinc.co.kr/mitinc/e_site/prod/prod_mdp100.jsp), and it aparently supports FTA!!!!  So does anyone know what equipment I do need to get in order to watch FTA broadcasts?  Is it as simple as getting a 36" dish and rotor?

Since I'm new to this stuff, I may be wrong but, I don't think that your card will support FTA.

It needs to support DVB, I believe. I'll keep researching, though.

If you wanted to receive FTA on your PC, I think you'd need a card like this one:

It's that DVB protocol that's the key, I think.

Any idea whats meant in their form that says "Free-to Air = Yes"?  Do you think it just supports the digital feed once some other card decodes the DVB signal?

I saw that in the specs as well ...

The only thing we could do to know for sure is, if you want, once I have my FTA system up and running you could bring your PC over here and we could simply plug the dish on to your card.

By the looks of the specs on your hd card, the input frequencies are 57mhz to 860mhz.

the L-band frequency from a satellite LNB is 950-1450mhz.

I would guess it wouldn't work. a DVB signal uses mpeg-2 so that part of it would work.
