I forgot to record Survivor on CBS (not an HD program) last week but was pleasantly surprised to find it posted on a newsgroup that RoadRunner hosts. There were two postings – one said DVD quality and one said VCD quality. I downloaded the DVD version, which came out to be about 1.5GB when it was unzipped. I was amazed by the quality of the picture. It was about 20 times better than the Time Warner feed I normally see. My question is, where do you think this capture came from? There was a logo in the right-hand bottom corner that said "Global." There were no commercials and the picture and sound were perfect.

Admin note: I'm all for getting content in any possible way, but worry about crawlers, spiders and robots gathering info that could lead us as a group into trouble, so I altered the title but didn't change any of oz' content.

Thanks for understanding ...

I may be mistaken, but I believe Global is a Canadian cable network. A few years back I had a collection of South Park episodes that had the logo - and checked into it then.

Nateerb is correct.  It is a Canadian network.  I believe they do broadcast in the top 10 sized cities in Canada.  They are one of a few networks that the government doesn't run. (CBC and their french equivalent, RDS, I think)

They are a rightsholder of NFL games and other big events and programming from the US.
