Not to understate the significance behind the moving to Arizona, but if Madden can make it in his bus, a few HD production rigs should be able to as well.

All Madden has to do is show up an hour before game time...  There's probably a little more involved in getting a stadium HD-ready.  ;)

But this quote:

QuoteIt would be the first "Monday Night Football" game this season not shown in high-definition.

Quote"I'm sure the viewer really won't notice anything different," ABC spokesman Mark Mandel said.

um, excuse me? I am "the viewer" and I won't notice anything different? Like the black bars down the sides, the lower resolution. C'mon Mark... I'm not blind, nor am I stupid!

Not that I'm a hi-def snob, however, I've been watching more MNF games this year since getting HD capabilities at home.

I have become extremely spoiled - so has the wife :)

HD makes the bad games seem good!  I also watch a lot more MNF now that I can watch in in HD

Not to be contradictory, but it is possible that the last part of his quote was taken out of context.

QuoteIt would be the first "Monday Night Football" game this season not shown in high-definition, and the network would have fewer cameras available.

"I'm sure the viewer really won't notice anything different," ABC spokesman Mark Mandel said.

He might be referring to the fewer cameras. Plus, the "average" viewer wouldn't notice the difference.

Journalists (sorry if any are reading this) tend to mis-quote people. My wife one said something to a reporter and after it got "edited" and printed, it made her sound like a digbat.

Just my 2 cents worth......
