TW sent me an e-mail regarding their big event at Miller Park on 10/25/03 and it states they will launch a new channel at 11:11 a.m.
Could this be the INHD channels?
Here's the e-mail:

Talked about in this thread

Not enough HD TV sets in the market to justify this big a whoopty-doo for a new HD channel...

Opps, I missed that thread.
More indemand?
I wouldn't think that would be big news at their folks fair.
TW have been recently flaunting their HD lineup though.
WE can only hope for more HD.

Not to long ago in Tom C's column he mentioned that TWC has surpassed 10,000 HD cable boxes. A growing market indeed!! I think TWC would be right on target to start promoting more HD content.

Gregg Lengling

TWC has only 4.1 million digital subscribers nationwide.  So I'm sure it's a very small percentage that has HD boxes.  On a side note my latest version of The Bridge shows the Comcast with the most subscribers followed by Directv and then TWC. TWC is very small compared to Directv.

Thanks, Gregg, all the more reason to look for more HD offerings on Directv and pursue the OTA (if you can) or HD-locals-only with TWC. Find a way to go both ways and maximize your HD "potential", as TWC has been slow, especially in the Milwaukee area to offer more HD content.:bang:

It's the chicken-and-egg scenario all over again...TWC probably thinks no one will watch what TWC  will deliver - so - TWC doesn't delivery more HD channels.  But if they did....

On another note - if it ever gets important to record what little TWC HD offers- I have contacted the main office with emails thru their help website and found the following about the upcoming SA8000HD box that records (DVR) in SD and HD:

#1 That they DO know about it.
#2 Still in testing stage and not released to any cable companies- to THEIR  knowledge.
#3 Coming soon and they will test it and move in into subscriber's homes as fast as possible as DVRs are already in place, just in SD-only mode, of course, but the roll out will be faster and smoother.
#4  There is no waiting list to get on or roll-out  target date-yet-but keep asking them, anyway.

So at least we have - something for us cable folks.;)

I got that email too and was thinking maybe ESPNHD to go along with the sports theme of the event...

The Law

first time I've ever been e-mailed about a new channel that's a surprise.

Hope it isn't an "Elton at Harley Fest"....

I'm sure other people have already put the same 2 & 2 together on this, but since they are making the announcement at 11:11am, it's probably going to be channel 1111, which is probably another InDemand channel.

Did anyone in the forum GO to the TWC event Saturday?
From what I have heard, the DVRs were a hit and the event was an education in TWC offerings.

Without any mud-slinging, DID anyone go and at least see/hear anything? It was my understanding there was an HDTV demo and that interesting channel at 11:11AM...Channel 1? :D

As far as the rollouts of HD channels go, Houston, TX is getting iN HD 1 and 2 on Nov. 5 added to its line up, bringing their total HD offering to 12 HD channels.
A friend of mine said it was on his billing statement.:)

As I understand, from one of our TWC workers in-the-know, the rollout for our iN HD channels could be before turkey-day, here.
Great!!!

Then all we'll need is that  SA8000HD  DVR late this year or early winter, when testing is completed from Scientific-Atlanta.
Put me on the sign-up  list, TWC! I hate having 2 boxes.:bang:

I went for about 20 minutes.  I knew about 1111, so that was no surprise.

I went with only one purpose: find out when more HD channels would role out and ask when the 8000HD PVR would be available.

No answers.  The one guy seemed surprised there was an HD PVR at all, much less did he know when it would be available here.

Oh well.  Patience.
