Turner to Launch HDTV Network

AZCAR has been contracted by Turner Entertainment Networks (TEN) to design a new HDTV network that will launch in the first half of 2004 and originate from TEN's Atlanta headquarters.


AZCAR completed the conceptual design of the automated, video server-based facility in 1999-2001, which now originates all Turner Entertainment Networks, which include TCM, TNT and Cartoon Network, in addition to WTBS. The new contract will be completed by the end of 2003.


The designs include a server ingest, live program integration control rooms, and fault-tolerant master control facilities patterned after AZCAR's work for the recently finished origination facility.
