I have a Zenith HD receiver and Directv. I get great reception OTA for Channels 4-1 and 12-1 but can't get CBSHD on 1-1. I get their regular antena but not the digital broadcast. CBS is telling me everything is just fine. Anyone else experiencing difficulty with CBS on the OTA antena?
This site is great, thanks for all the info and work you put into it.

Don't feel too bad....CBS 48 (digital 46) is running low power and their signal isn't real easy to receive.  I live in Cedarburg and with an antenna on my tower at 35' I only receive it about 10% of the time.  Of course once all the leaves fall off the trees I'll probably get it again...but I'm not hopeful.  This occurs on both my receivers too.  I'm just a little too lazy to play with the antenna or put another one up.  I do have one at 50' but the preamp got blown out by lightning and I haven't climbed up there to replace it..then I'll be able to receive it again.

I think the FCC did a mis-service to all of us viewers by allowing the stations to get STA's to run low power, Just look at Fox, I think there are about 3 people on this forum that can receive it.  And I am not repeat not going to pay TWC to get it on cable.

Well, even though your a Vikings fan:guns:lets see if we can help.

What are you using for an antenna? I swear by the Channel Master 4228, 8 bay UHF antenna. I had problems with CBS until I bought one of these.

Check out //www.antennaweb.org first and verify the direction you need to aim it. Then order one up and give it a try (assuming you can mount it outside). I have no clue how well this would work in an attic.

This unit solved all my problems. I also know a great internet site that sells these and other antenna products for a steal, and they ship fast too.

Let me know.

P.S. - GO PACK!!!!

Dan, Thanks for your info. I just purchased a Radio Shack yagi antena with a 90 mile range, don't know p/n. It really stepped up my signal strength for ABC and NBC, so I know it works.  Those two are at 48 and 49 degrees but CBS is at 43 degrees. I am at 30 miles from the tower in Muskego.  I have a tv guy coming by tomorrow to fix big screen and hope he has a signal locator and may be able to fine tune antena direction. Again, I do get the CBS regular antena broadcast but not the digital. Thanks again.
By the way, Wife is Packer fan and I have taken it for a couple of years but maybe, just maybe it is our year.

HA

Let's see.  Vikings and Cubs????  Chances are slim and none.  I'll give slim to the Cubbies...

Hi,

I live in Muskego too. I had some problems with CBS before I upgraded RS antenna. I went to the top their product (in distanse) and got the signal now just fine. Unfortunately do not remember model#. But again, it is the top product.

My Radio Shack double bow tie has been great... flawless in picking up CBS58 Digital.

But for some reason, the past few days, the reception has been spotty. Football on Sunday, and the Guardian last night.. I was getting pixellization, green blocks and a couple total freezes. What's odd is that I have a woods between my house and the 58 tower, and the reception has been perfect all summer. Now we're losing leaves as the woods thins out, and NOW the problems are starting.

I have the 4 bow channel master.  4221 maybe?  In my attic and it works great.  I bet the 4228 works fine that way too.  You have to make sure the materials used in construction of your roof are acceptable for antennas I think.

Vikings?!?!?!?

Hey, I thought our forum software had a filter that replaced obscenities and vulgarities with ***'s.   Maybe needs a little adjustment...

OK... let's try it again:

Green Bay Packers
Chicago ****s
Minnesota ******s
Detroit ****s

Yup... works fine now.

Guys,
I thought I should check mine as well.  Lets see:
5 and 0 vs 3 and 2 , now hit my equal button = 2 game lead plus bragging rights until Nov 2nd. Looks good to me.

What the Viking's should be doing now is seeing a GI specialist to see if they can prevent those choking spells they get after the holidays!

Yup.

Oh, thats good!:D

There are two things you can always count on every year in the NFL, especially the NFC:

1. Never, ever think the Packers are out of a game when Brett is still on the field...
2. No matter how good the Vikings do in the regular season, they WILL choke in the play-offs.

I have a Zenith HD receiver I haven't had problems with OTA until last night. CBS 58 was pretty bad.  First totally lost it for about a minute or so and when it came back the signal was half strength freezing, pixelation and sound delay.  Felt like watching a dubbed movie.   All other stations where fine except for Fox of course.
