Pioneer 3500 vs 3510 boxes

I recently had the SA box switched out with a Pioneer BD-V3500HD.  Does this have any functional difference from the 3510 box most people reference in these forums?

It does not immediately appear that the quality of picture is any better with the 3500 over the SA3100.  It also appears that there is some slowness when changing screens and some pixelation.

Also, why would one use settings more than 1080i and 720P (ie 480i and 480p) when the channels we get are only 1080 and 720?

How did you know what box was which?

I have a defective Pioneer box (with no sound right now) and want to exchange it for another model...no one at TWC or even the box itself can identify it !

It says 3500 on the instruction manual.  BTW, I just exchanged back for the SA 3100 as I found the Pioneer:

1. seemed to have a fuzzier picture
2. had a significant delay in changing channels
3. wouldn't play video on 512

I tried a different 3500 with the same result.

I am now reset in my expectation and will stay with the SA3100.

Sorry, I never got an instruction manual as the CSR behind the counter said they didn't have any.
So even if I wanted to download one from a website-I still do not have a model number anyway and Pioneer's website is awkward at best.

SA3100HD or SA8000HD-here I come (back)!   ;)

I had a similar problem.  You might want to check for a model number on the unit itself.  Although the manual was marked as '3500', the model number as listed near the serial number information on the unit was '3510'.
