Can we vote FAUX to give up NFL?

So I'm watching Packers on 12 tonight, absolutelly gorgeous. Every game I've watched on CBS looked stunning, including the CBS broadcast on DTV HD channels.
Yesterday, Sunday I had the misfortune of watching FOX game on DTV HD.  On a 65 inch TV it looks just about the same as the standard broadcast. I won't even mention the 20 feet broadcast range of the Milwaukee FOX HD tower.

I think FOX just renewed their contract with the NFL not to long ago, if I'm not mistaken, it goes to 2007.  After that, its up to someone else with deeper pockets than Rupert Murdoch to outbid FOX, which I'm sure will want to keep them.  Getting the NFL is what had the FOX network a real contender.

How about we SCREAM loud enough and DEMAND that WITI give up Fox and make WISN-TV pick it up.  Thus make WISN both a Fox and ABC affiliate. That way they will carry the GB in Hi-Def when Fox does High Def on Sundays.

Or else tell WITI we demand they raise their antenna and power.  

Its either one or the other boys!  

This reminds me back in the early 1980s when WVTV aquired the rights to broadcast Milwaukee Brewer games. Some people were upset because a "UHF station that is hard to pick up" was carrying the baseball games.  But then little did they know was that WVTV was at the sametime in process of increasing their antenna and power. Thats when they vacated the tower on top of the Marc Plaza Hotel for the one they shared with WMVS/WMVT on a tower WVTV owned and bought but built on MATC land.

We SCREAM and DEMAND - but WITI doesn't care.

WITI is a FOX O&O station, so the chances of getting them to dump the FOX network is slim to none.   How about this, you all BUY WITI,  and make all the chages you want..  Or, just keep calling and complaining to WITI in hopes they will someday tell the execs at FOX (who pay the bills) to add more money to the engineering budget.

Well even if you could receive WITI-DT's signal, there is no High Definition programming on Fox.  So far this year the Packers haven't even been good enough to be displayed in Fox standard definition wide screen.  The Fox network might be sending out select NFL games in High Definition by maybe 2004, but who knows when WITI will have the equipment to deal with that, much less the broadcasting power to reach a wide digital audience.
