PROGRAMMING: CBS Readies HD NFL Games

CBS Sports announced the first three NFL games that will be featured in HDTV. Week 1 will show the San Diego Chargers against the Kansas City Chiefs in Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium, on Sept. 7. The week 2 HD broadcast will see the New England Patriots take on the Philadelphia Eagles from the Eagles' new home, Lincoln Financial Field, on Sept. 14. Week 3 will see the Cleveland Browns visiting the San Francisco 49ers at 3Com Park in San Francisco on Sept. 21. The HD games will be available to customers of DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket package.

*De La Hoya, Mosley on PPV - DISH Network and DirecTV will offer the "Oscar De La Hoya vs. Shane Mosley II: Redemption" boxing match on pay-per-view. De La Hoya and challenger Mosley will face each other in 12 rounds on Sept. 13 at 9 p.m. EST at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The World Super Welterweight Championship bout features De La Hoya (36-2, 29 KOs) and Mosley (38-2, 35 KOs). De La Hoya lost to Mosley in Los Angeles in June 2000.

*Ye Haw! Grand Ole Opry Live Moves - The Grand Ole Opry said that "Grand Ole Opry Live" will be available each week of the year on the Great American Country (GAC) network. Beginning Oct. 4, the popular show moves to GAC from Country Music Television (CMT). The television broadcast schedule includes 52 weekly telecasts airing on Saturday nights at 8 p.m. EST and repeating three times on weekends and twice on Tuesday evenings.
