What!?! No Packer game in WS?

I turn on the game today on my TWC box only to find it's not widescreen!

I thought pretty much all of the Fox broadcasts were widescreen.  I mean, if they aren't going full-blown HD, that would mean they could afford decent WS coverage. Right?

Was this a mixup at the station, TWC, or was I expecting too much?

Tom Snyder

Fox has never promised more than two games a week in Widescreen this season... their A & B games

And that means, if the Packers keep playing the way they did today, we won't be seeing much of them in Widescreen this season. :(

Look at the bright side. If this telecast would have been HD or even widescreen it would have been that much more painful.....

480P double the misery....

1080i quadruple the misery...

Ugh! Thanks for the replies.

Is there any place that explains which games are in WS and which are not?

WS might've taken the edge off of the loss... I couldv'e watched blurry Packers suck rather than watching blurry-stretched Packers suck. :)

Maybe this was posted elsewhere, but the San Diego- Kansas City game was in HD on CBS at noon yesterday.  Too bad it wasn't at 3pm instead of noon :(

I was switching to it from the Packer game during commericals... the difference in PQ made my eyes hurt!

Made me angrier and angrier at Fox/Fox6 as the day went on...

As far as where to see which games are in WS... DirecTV Sunday ticket schedule shows which ones will be in WS... they're on Channel 71 and 72...

I don't think anyone here has mentioned this, but did anyone else notice that the James Brown updates from other games, which were shown between plays during the Packer game, were often shown in wide screen mode? And even when they were not, the zooming Fox Sports transition logo was all the way across.

(I hope I'm making sense here)

Didn't the 3:00 Bears game go to most of the country?  Fox didn't even have the better PQ for that one.

Tom Snyder

Fox had three late games... so they had to decide whether or not the Bears game was going to get the star treatment

Fox used an elaborate algorythm, taking into account market sizes, potential combined ratings points, widescreen TV penetration, win/loss record from last year, vegas point spreads, sports illustrated predictions for end of season records and they came down to single tie breaker to make the final determination:

THE BEARS STILL SUCK!   :p
