If you look at the customer care section of TWC's question and help section on their website, you find that IN HD will be out in the fall for pay-per-view HD movies and so on.  It will be like Directv's PPV HD channel (used to be channel 198 on DirecTV).
It will be one more way TWC can say it is offering HD channels, but this time it will be at additional cost to the subscriber-you.

**IN HD will be out in the fall**

In TWC language this must mean late winter/early spring??

I wonder how much more I will get charged for a HD In Demand movie compared to a SD In Demand movie.

The man is back and my counsel at the TWC Palace have laid down a decree to all you slaves..err customers!!

We shall offer anything we want whenever we want. Don't like it? Tough.

We shall charge you through the teeth for everything because we can. Don't like it? Tough.

We shall screw the slave..er customer at every opportunity, up to and including holding back channels just because it would make people miserable. Don't like it? Tough.

To add to above decree, we shall make them available to ourselves on encrypted, hidden channels so that we can enjoy them at home and giggle incessantly at our special priviledges. Don't like it, tough.

We shall start implanting subliminal mind control on coming from the time display to start you to actually overpaying your cable bill.

Now that I have given away all of our trade secrets, I can conclude all of your speculations. :)

On an actual serious note, from the inside, I can say that your frustrations are being realized at a high level within the company and steps are being made to catch up. I wish I could give you more information on this but I would like to keep my job.

So keep up the work and let's hear some more TWC bashing! It makes me giggle.

Kenshin Welcome back!  Report to the guards that are holding us hostage there are 10,000 of us now!! (See Tom C's column in todays paper). Reach for your calculator and you'll see that
@ $50.00/month (which is a low estimate) that comes out to $500,000/month revenue from us HDTV fanatics.  Plus, we give your company free advertising everytime we show off our HDTV programming to friends and relatives. All of which are potential subscribers or upgraders to TWC. It is in your company's BEST INTEREST to give us what we want which is MORE HDTV PROGRAMMING

Calm down cochese, I think you missed my humorous point.  We do see the demand, and we are trying to add channels. Like I said, if it was up to me, we'd have as many as we could and they'd be included with at no additional cost. However, it isn't up to me. I can only say that the message is clear and we are working to bring more channels. In the meantime, enjoy the satellite.

Incidentally, has anyone tried the Gateway plasma screen HDTV devices? If so, how do they rate? I was considering getting one for home.

Kenshin,

Check out the 50" Sampo post by Gregg in the latest news forum.  It mentions the Dell Plasma unit.

Actually from what I understand, iNDemand is rolling out two HD services.  One will  be serial programming (ala HDNet? (not sure, never saw it myself)) while the other will offer HD pay-per-view.

I just got the Gateway 42" plasma about 2 weeks ago.  Didn't buy it, but won it in a promotion at work.  Already have the Panasonic 34" tube HD.  Monday night I moved my STB to the plasma and watched the Broncos/Colts game.  I was impressed. HD picture was great.  Last night I was 3 games, Sox/yankees looked good but Cubs/Cardinals was on a DISH network  alternate channel and the picture was very washed out.  It did look better on the Panasonic.  Bears/Patriots looked ok as well.  Also flipped over the ABC and watched a little of Goerge Lopez.  Was switching from satellite feed to HD feed.  Seems to me that the is a biiger jump in picture quality on the plasma than there is on the Panasonic.  So far I do like the plasma, but it will stay in the basement and it will not be the primary tv.  Will stick with the 34" Panasonic for that.  Hope this helps.
